Ah Kwong & Co., Perth

Description

DescriptionAh Kwong & Co. was described as 'General Importers and Merchants' and as a drapers. It operated from the 1890s through to at least the late 1930s.

In 1895 its two partners were Yeong Kwong James (founder) and Tong Coon Thomas. They operated from 349 Murray Street, Perth and a second shop in Victoria Park.

The company operated different premises and multiple shop locations over the years. In 1900 it had a drapers shop at 149 William Street, Perth (PO Directory 1900) and later at 114 King Street, Perth. In 1922 it operated from the corner of King and Murray Streets in Perth as well as at 129 James Street, Perth. By the late 1930s it had a shop at 21 Lake Street, Perth.
