Biographical informationAlbert Washing was born in Victoria, Australia in 1869 (BDM Vic 6169/1869). He was the son of Wah Shing (George Washing) and Louisa Myers.
He was a partner in the Washing Brothers Furniture Factory, 407 Murray Street, Perth, together with his brother Charles Joseph Washing, from at least 1899.
He acted as an interpreter for Chinese people in Perth, such as Lee Fay (2) bankruptcy proceedings in 1909. In 1912 he complained to the Immigration Department that applications for CEDTs, which he forwarded on behalf of other Chinese migrants, were being refused.
