Biographical informationAh Sue Ivy Mary Gertrude (née Dale) was born in July 1898 in East Preston, Sussex, England. She was the daughter of Edmund Dale (1873-1954) and Sarah Uranie Collison (1876-1937). She migrated to Western Australia in 1910 with her family.

She married Ah Sue (4) in Northam in 1918 (BDM 1918/4900012).

They had seven children:
1) Douglas Roy Ah Sue (b. 1916, Northam)
2) James Albert Chung Ah Sue (b. 1918, Northam)
3) Ronney Mary Chung Ah Sue (b. 1920, York)
4) Lesley Margaret Ah Sue (b. 1922, Northam)
5) David Paul Chung Ah Sue (b. 1923, York)
6) Ivy Mavis Ah Sue (b. 1926, York) and
7) Uranie Merle Ah Sue (b. 1928, York).

The family grew up in York. By 1942, Ivy was living with many of her children at 14 Albert Road, North Fremantle and by 1945 she had moved to 29 Queen Victoria Street in Fremantle. Ah Sue (4) was living at James Street, Perth at this time.
