Biographical informationAh Sue (4) (鐘亞蘇) was born in 1870 in Sun Wei, China (新會). He migrated to Western Australia in 1889.
He was husband to Ivy Mary Gertrude (nee Dale) and father of:
1) Douglas Roy Ah Sue (b. 1916, Northam)
2) James Albert Chung Ah Sue (b. 1918, Northam)
3) Ronney Mary Chung Ah Sue (b. 1920, York)
4) Lesley Margaret Ah Sue (b. 1922, Northam)
5) David Paul Chung Ah Sue (b. 1923, York)
6) Ivy Mavis Ah Sue (b. 1926, York) and
7) Uranie Merle Ah Sue (b. 1928, York).
He applied for a CEDT in January 1895 and stated that he had been 'in business as market gardener in Perth for 5 1/2 years'.
He had a shop in Fitzgerald Street, Northam, in 1914. He moved to Muresk in 1916 and started a market garden on land leased from Dempster.
In 1920 he moved to York and initially leased land for a market garden from M. Edwards. Shortly after he bought 10 acres of land at York and continued market gardening until 1941.
Ah Sue died in Perth in 1947.
