Biographical informationAh Phom travelled on the 'Clarence Packet' from Fremantle to Dirk Hartog Island with King Chu, Ah Hoo (1), Ah Chuck and Ah Soor to work for Aubrey Brown. During the voyage, on 14 July 1881, Ah Phom witnessed the murder of Ah Soor by Captain O'Grady and Sidong, a Malay, who beat him with wood and rope and then threw his body overboard.
In September 1881, Ah Phom sailed to Perth to give evidence at the trial of O'Grady. He stayed at the Poor House but later took up residence at Mrs Jackson's lodging house (C).Other nameAh Phom (differentiated name)
