FONG SAM May (female)

Description

Biographical informationMay Fong Sam was born in Broome on 23 October 1926 (BDM Cert No. 25174 as cited in Gracie's CEDT 1927/3). She was the daughter of Fong Sam and Gracie Fong Sam.

May's mother, Gracie, applied for a CEDT in 1927, intending to travel with daughters Amy, Ellen and baby May, but did not use it.

She travelled overseas with her father, mother and siblings from April 1936 and returned with her mother and three siblings in October 1937. Her father had returned in November 1936 and her sister, Amy, appears to have remained in China as her CEDT was extended to April 1946.
