Biographical informationFong Bean Andrew was born in May 1877 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1897. He was five feet six and half inches in height. He was the nephew of Fong Yee.
He worked as a shop keeper. He leased a shop, Ah Key & Co, at 165 William Street, Perth, before travelling overseas in March 1902. He returned to Western Australia in February 1903. On his return he moved to Geraldton where he worked in the firms Wing on Woo & Sydney Fong & Co., in Marine Terrace.
He spent one year in Broome, 1916-1917, before returning to Perth and working for Wing Hing & Co, 207 William Street, Perth.
