Biographical informationAh Loo (2) was born in about 1854 in Kungchow [Guangzhou], China. He migrated to Western Australia in August 1873.

Ah Loo (2) was the cousin of Ah Kit (1).

He was employed by Albert Young Hassell as a teamster, shearer and horse rider at Kendenup for many years. He cohabited with an Aboriginal woman and had a son, James (Jim) Loo.

He worked initially as a sandalwood cutter for Hassell near Albany. Later he worked as a market gardener at Elleker. In the 1890s he was working for Lim Fong on a market garden in Albany. At some time in the late 19th century or early 20th century , he leased the garden and orchard from Francis Bird at Strawberry Hill Farm with Charlie Ah Chi. He was still working as a market gardener at Albany, in 1916 (B). In 1918 he worked briefly as a labourer at Katanning (B) before returning to Albany.

He was a member of the Chinese Masonic Society in Albany. He died at Albany in 1926. His death notice mentions that his brother, Ah Wah, was chief mourner.Other nameAh Loo, 1854- (differentiated name)Date of birth1854
