Biographical informationChong Wee Jack was born on the 14th May 1911 in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. He was the son of Chong Wee and Chong Hay Pearl. He was the brother of Chong Wee George, Chong Wee Tommy, Chong Wee Alice and Fong Kee Mary. He was five feet five inches in height.
By 1916, the family had moved from Darwin to Carnarvon in Western Australia.
He enrolled in the Civil Constructional Corps in World War 2 in 1943. At the time of his enrolment, he was married and living at 473 Newcastle Street, West Perth. He mother and brother were living in the house next door (475). His occupation was given as "spray hand" and he was working at PWD. His wife's name was recorded as Theresa Chong Wee.
