Biographical informationChong Wee George Michael was born on the 10th September 1906 in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. He was the son of Chong Wee and Chong Hay Pearl. He was the brother of Chong Wee Tommy, Chong Wee Jack, Chong Wee Alice and Fong Kee Mary.
By 1916 the family had moved from Darwin to Carnarvon in Western Australia. He enlisted in Australian Army and served in the 11 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps.
He was still living in Carnarvon in 1951 when he donated money to support Mrs V. Bird whose husband had been killed in a car accident.
In the 1970s he lived at 27 Douglas Street, Carnarvon together with his mother and his brother Tommy.
