She married Louey Ling Tack, known in the family as George, and they had one son: Louey Arthur. Louey Arthur (later known as Fong Arthur) was born in China or Hong Kong in 1908. Ethel migrated to Western Australia sometime after 1908.
She lived with George in Geraldton until 1918 when they moved to Carnarvon Street and later Dampier Terrace, Broome. They also helped to run a shop on the corner of William and James Streets in Northbridge, Perth, Wing Hing & Co. Ltd.
In 1928 she and George accompanied Fong Kee and his children back to China. Louey Ling Tack returned to Western Australia in 1929, but Ethel stayed in Hong Kong.
