Biographical informationFONG, Arthur was born in Canton, China in 1907 and grew up in Kowloon. His father and mother brought him to Australia as a student in 1918 and they lived at Broome. In 1920 he moved to Perth and schooled at the Christian Brothers College in Victoria Avenue, Perth and then Stott's Business College. He worked in his father's businesses and he married his wife: Pearl. He travelled overseas from February 1927 to March 1931. When he returned he took over the family businesses and his father returned to Hong Kong.
