Biographical informationCHONG WOON (aka Thomas Chong) was born in about 1835 in Canton, China. He migrated to Australia to work in the Victoria Goldfields in the early 1870s or earlier.
He married Emma Branson in 1875 in Rushworth, Goldfields, Victoria. They had at least eight children, all born in Rushworth, Victoria.
Only two of the children moved to Western Australia:
1) CHONG, Gertrude Victoria (b. 1878, Rushworth, Victoria)
2) CHONG, John William (b. 1890)
