Biographical informationDaughter of Yuen Hoy Poy and Mary Selina Brewer.
Doreen Sadie Brewer Hoy Poy was born 11 May 1910 in Perth (BDM 100684/1910). Known as Sadie (rather than Doreen).

In 1930 she was the Secretary of the Wesley Chinese Mission Sunday School.

She travelled to Hong Kong via Singapore in 1933. Was working as an accountant in Hong Kong during WWII. Returned to Perth for a short stay in 1939 and may have taken Bruce with her on the return journey to Hong Kong. When hostilities broke out Sadie and Renie were both in Hong Kong but moved to unoccupied China. Sadie applied to return to Australia but Renie stayed in China working for the British Press. The Secret Service assessed Sadie's application to return to Australia in great detail and there are several files in National Archives regarding this (NAA Security file, ID 780258 and 1382249).

She died in Duncraig, Western Australia, in 1998.Date of birth1911Date of death17th July 1998
