DescriptionJames Clark & Co. has its roots back to August 1883 when James Clark established a settlement near an Aboriginal watering place in the Pilbara. He established a group of buildings that became James Clark & Co.

The business was operated by James Clark and his business partner, Mr J.E. McKenzie. They had a large shop/store and a warehouse. They were the sole traders in Onslow until 1892 when Robert Francis Hope set up a second business in the growing town.

James Clark and Co. became agents for shipping and customs. The company also later operated the Rob Roy Hotel in Onslow.
