Biographical informationAh Hing (21) (aka Chhan Hong) was employed as a laundryman by James Clark & Co. Onslow, in January or February 1893. On 7 July 1893 he was violently assaulted by James Clark and died shortly after from his injuries (C). Ah Hock (4) and Foo King were witnesses at the inquest. Ah Ching (2) reported the assault to police at Roebourne. Ah Sing (31) acted as interpreter at the inquest into the death. The cause of death was eventually given as "natural causes" and so James Clark was never charged with murder.
