Ah Ping was under contract to work for Governor Frederick Chidley Irwin (C).
By August 1848 Ah Ping (1) was working for Lionel Samson. He translated for another of Samson's Chinese workers, Ah Fat (A-Fa), when he gave evidence against George Woods and Sarah King, who were accused of stealing from Samson.
In 1850, Ah Ping was charged with stealing a blanket from Samson. It was alleged that he had sold the blanket to Aca, who was living at Cassim's house. Ah Chong (A-Chong) also gave evidence. Ah Ping was acquitted. Other nameAh Ping (differentiated name)
