West Australian, 4 August 1910, p. 3 stated:
"In the Matter of Wong Bue and Wong Chew.
Wong Chew, examined by the Official Re-ceiver, said that he had been in partnership with his brother Wong Bue for the past two years. They started business as pro-duce merchants in James-street with a capi-tal of £400 borrowed from Wong Wah, Wong Wing, and Wong Let. They made a living the first 12 months, but were unable to repay any of the capital which they had borrowed. He attributed their failure in the second year to the loss of £400, owed by Lawrence, who had gone insolvent, and to an action by a Tasmanian firm, who were suing for the recovery of money for a consignment of potatoes which had been shipped back to Tasmania in consequence of Irish blight.
The examination was adjourned sine."
