Biographical informationGeorge Hedland Quan Sing was born on 16 March 1937.
Son of Yee Lock Quan Sing and Cheong Mon Hong. Younger brother of Hedland Yee Lock Quan Sing.
When he was just two weeks old he left for China with his family. His Immigration file indicates a great deal of consideration was given as to whether he would be issued a CEDT. In the end, fingerprints were taken. At the time, H. Bird, Inspector of Customs noted that, “as matters stand, the identification of thumbprints of George Hedland QUAN SING will be rather difficult should he return to Australia and seek admission a few years hence, as the thumbprints were taken too heavily and have become blotched.”
This prediction was realised. George applied for an Australian passport in 1962 and after much confirmation as to his identity, including a comparison of fingerprints taken as a new baby, and received an Australian passport in August 1962. Other nameYEE Tin SeeDate of birth16th March 1937
