Biographical informationAh Yong (6) may have migrated to Western Australia on 27/8/1887 per SS Australind at Shark Bay.
He worked as a market gardener at Bibra Lake. He leased 15 acres from Augustus Cook 9/8/1897 (Cockburn Loc. 35) and 10 acres (Cockburn Loc. 50) on the south-east corner of Bibra Lake. The lease was to extend for 20 years. The 1st year on peppercorn rental, the next ten years at 10 pounds per annum and the remaining 5 years at 20 pounds per annum.
The lease was terminated early, in 1901, and taken over by three other Chinese market gardeners: Ming Wah, Ah Foo and Wing Wor Kee.
