Biographical informationArchibald Edmund Burt was born 17 February 1864 in the West Indies to Archibald Piguenit Burt. He arrived in Western Australia in 1874 after his parents had died. In 1902 he married Florence Maud Roberts, the daughter of W.H. Roberts of Melbourne. They had one child: Archibald Temple Pentland Burt.
After finishing his education at Hale School, Perth, he went to the Northwest and had interests in Peedamunna Station, Onslow and Oudabunna Station, Lower Murchison. He retained these interests when he entered Civil Service. Justice of the Peace. In 1895 he entered the Mines Department and from 1897 to 1908 was the Warden of the Mount Magnet goldfield. From 1908 to 1934 he was resident Magistrate, Albany. He was President of the Albany Racing Club and a member of the Weld Club, Perth.
Educated in St. Kitts, W. Indies and Hale School, Perth.
