Biographical informationJohn Brockman, b. 3 . 1843/8. d. 1930, son of Robert James & Elizabeth (nee Walcott), m. 28.5.1870 Frances Louisa Bussell. Was in charge of horse & cattle station for his father when his parents were bankrupted at Greenough by rust , floods and fire. Went to Busselton: Farmer and grazier "Burnside": JP 1873. Mate on the Government vessel Adela 1874 .
By 1880 was engaged in pearl fishing & suffered cyclone damage in
partnership with brother C.S . Brockman. Gascoyne Pastoral Station. Inspector of
Pearl Fisheries. Shark. Bay, on Genista for 6 yrs 6 months. Government Resident,
Roebourne 1896- 1900. Retired to Perth.
