Biographical informationYuen Kow (aka Yeun Kow) was born on the 23rd July 1880 in Canton, China. He arrived in Melbourne in 1897 and spent 6 years in Victoria. He moved to Western Australia in 1906. He was five feet six and half inches in height.
He worked as a cabinet maker for various companies including See Wah & Co. in Dyer Street, West Perth and for Yuen Hoy Poy.
He travelled overseas between February 1916 and April 1917 and also February 1923 and June 1924.
He left Western Australia in March 1930 and travelled to Sydney. He then moved to Hong Kong and was there when World War II broke out. In the evacuation of Hong Kong he lost all his possessions. In 1947 he submitted an application to return to Western Australia.
