Description

Biographical informationLouey Jane was born in about 1859 in China. Her maiden name was Cheong.

She was the wife of Louey Wah. Lived in Melbourne and had children there. The family relocated to Perth in 1885 and their family home was at 24 James Street, Northbridge, Perth.

She ran the Presbyterian Chinese Mission School in Perth. She taught English and literacy at the School, which was situated on the corner of Stirling and James Streets, Perth. In 1909 between 20 and 30 Chinese attended classes (G).
