Biographical informationTop Mole arrived per the 'Janet' in March 1879. From his arrival he was employed to work on an orange farm, by Burt and Haynes, Gooseberry Hill.
In February 1882, he applied to the Colonial Secretary for a return passage to Singapore. His request may have been refused as, in June 1882, he re-applied, promising to return to Perth after 6 months and to resume working for Burt and Haynes.
