Biographical informationTie Hop (aka Hor Ty Hop) was born in about 1857 in Canton, China. He migrated to Australia in 1886 and moved to Western Australia in 1892. He was over five feet seven inches in height.

In 1898 he was employed as a market gardener by Chen Hop, Barrack Street, Perth (C). In 1901 he gave his address as Wanneroo Road, Osborne Park. He worked on a market garden at Bayswater in 1910 (E).

In 1900 he applied through SOONG QUONG Paul for his 13 year old son, Cook Ho, to emigrate to Australia.
