Biographical informationSo Mon (or Somon) was born in June 1875 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1898. He was five feet five inches in height.
He worked as a cabinet maker at the See Wah Furniture Factory, Dyer Street, West Perth, in 1914. In 1916 he worked at J. W. Wing, 235 Newcastle Street, Perth, before returning to See Wah in 1918. In 1919 he was employed at the J. W. Wing factory where he remained for two years before moving to Lee Fay's factory in Roe Street, Perth. He was working at J. W. Wing again in 1926.
So Mon travelled overseas between May 1914 and August 1915.
