Biographical informationSam C. was born in about 1880 in Canton China. He migrated to Australia in 1896, aged 16. He landed at Port Darwin with his father See Hi King in 1887.
He worked for Sun Mow Loong in a merchant warehouse in Port Darwin until 1899. Then he worked on a mine at a place called Yewyin for about three years. After this he travelled to Melbourne where he was employed by Sun Wah Chong, a merchant in Little Bourke Street for about five years. After this he travelled with Carson Willie to Cossack in 1907 or 1908 where he and Willie were employed by See Sing & Co., Roebourne until 1912 (G).
