Biographical informationLiong A Chhun (龍亞春) was born in about 1857 in Nampoi (Cantonese), China (南海縣). He migrated to Western Australia in July 1889.
He was recruited in Singapore to work as a "coolie" [labourer] under contract to Duncan K. McRae, Cossack, for two years at S$10 per month.
On 17 January 1890, Liong A Chhun absconded from Thompson and McRae's service at Hamersley Range with another Chinese man. They had been stationed at the Mallina shearing shed with two other Chinese men.
