Biographical informationLee Lee Chong, aka Ah Lee, was born in about 1873 in Taishan, Canton, China. He arrived in Western Australia in 1901. He was the brother of Lee Wan Chong.
He worked as a market gardener in Osborne Park. Later he worked for Wong Thoon and Hi Dong at York in the 1930s before starting his own garden with his brother Lee Wan Chong, at York, trading under the name of Lee Ackman (M).
In August 1947 Lee Lee Chong and Lee Wan Chong were assaulted near their home in Bland Road, York. In November 1948 Lee Lee Chong was stabbed with a knife by Dorothy May Crawford (aged 26), his housekeeper, at his house. She was alleged to have been drunk at the time. Together with his brother, he was accused unlawfully assaulting Sergeant Dowsett and Constable Mitchell (police officers) at his market garden in January 1949.
