Biographical informationKi Gem was born in about 1861 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1888.
He worked as a shop assistant in Perth in 1908 (E). In 1916 he worked as a clerk for Hong Wah, 394 Murray Street, Perth. In 1921 he moved to Guildford.
Ki Gem was fined 20 shillings in June 1918 for 'Being Found in a Gaming House' in Perth. In December 1918 he was fined £10 and, in April 1919, £15 for 'Keeping a Gaming House' (B).
