Gong Ke lived with Ah You (3) (C) in a house across the street from Mr Foster's Royal Hotel. The Royal Hotel was on the corner of William & Wellington Streets, Perth.
He leased a market garden known as Howletts (? location) along with Ah You (3).
In 1890 he was charged with selling liquor without a license and was defended by F.M. Stone. The liquor sold was described as "Chinese Gin". The two men said to have purchased the illicit liquor were Jim Ah Chow and Ah Hung. Gong Ke was found guilty and given one month in prison plus a fine of 30 pounds.
