GEE KEE GIN

Description

Biographical informationGee Kee Gin (also known as Wing Sing) was born in about 1859 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1892. He was five feet three inches in height.

He worked as a laundryman with Lon Chew [LON CHEE] in a laundry at 400 William Street, Perth. Lon Chew sold the laundry before returning to China in 1898.

He applied for a Certificate to return to the colony in late 1898 under the name Wing Sing. Information from his Certificate suggests a birth date of c.1864. He departed in November 1899 and returned per SS Australind in November 1899.
