Biographical informationChen Chick was born in October 1883 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1898. He was just under five feet six and a half inches in height.

He worked as a market gardener on Ah Ling's market garden, Kalamunda, in 1912.

He applied for a Certificate Exempting him from the Dictation Test in 1913 but did not use it.
