Biographical informationAh Young (7) was born in March 1882 in KongMoon [Jiangmen], China. He migrated to Western Australia in June 1897.
He worked as a market gardener at Kalamunda in 1916. He moved to Perth and resided at 218 Roe Street in July 1918. He worked for Lapsley, Osborne Park, for a few months in 1919 before working on a market garden at Burswood. In February 1920, Ah Young became a shop assistant at Ah Ling's shop, 127 Barrack Street, Perth (B).
Ah Young (7) is probably the man ("Young Kim, aged 48", elsewhere "Young Yin aged 48") who was killed in September 1930 in East Guildford when his car stalled on a railway crossing and he was hit by a train. This person was a market gardener in Walliston and was driving vegetables to and from Perth. This would fit well with his working for Ah Ling & Co. who had a shop in Perth and market garden interests in the Walliston area. He would also have been 48 at this time, as stated in various newspapers.Other nameAh Young, 1882 March- (differentiated name)Date of birthMarch 1882Date of deathSeptember 1930
