Biographical informationAh Quong (8) was born in about 1883 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1897. He was five feet eight and three quarter inches in height.
He worked as a laundryman. He spent 1898 and 1899 in Cottesloe; 1900 to 1907 in Fremantle; and 1908 to at least 1914 at the Ying Cheong Laundry, 70 Melbourne Road, Perth (E). [He may also have had a connection to the Andrew Ginn Laundry?]
He travelled overseas twice: December 1904 to September 1906; and September 1916 to August 1919. He was described as "hardworking and well conducted. He applied for a CEDT in 1911 but did not use it (D).
