Biographical informationAh Leng was born in about 1863 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1887.
He worked as a general dealer at Roebourne and Cossack. He applied for naturalisation in July 1890. Ah Leng's application was refused on the grounds that it would enable him to own part of a pearling plant which was currently in the name of Ah Ling (1).
