Biographical informationAh Hing (18) was engaged by Captain Abbott in July 1881 to garden at Port Walcott. In 1882, he was employed by James Aubrey Withnell, in the Roebourne district.
On 7 August 1882, he was carting wool from the wool shed to the wool wash when the horse and cart he was driving, slewed and crushed him against a tree. Ah Hing died from his injuries on 9 August 1882. As he had no relatives in Western Australia, inquiries were made in Singapore, which revealed that his brother Ah Hang was residing there.
