DescriptionKwong Hing's year of birth is contentious. When his father, Fong Fulson, applied for him to travel to Australia in 1911 for "Educational Purposes" he gave his age as 11. This would suggest he was born in 1899 or 1900. However, on his travel document, issued in Canton in June 1921, his birth date is given as 28 April 1895. When her arrived in Australia it was commented that he "looked to young for his alleged age", so the original date of birth given by Fong Fulson may be correct. In collectionAnne Atkinson Collection
