Biographical informationThe Hon. Sir Lawrence Jackson, KCMG, BA, LLB, Hon.LLD, Hon.D.Univ, Hon.FACE., was born in South Australia in 1913 and educated in New South Wales at Fort Street Boys School and Sydney University. In 1937 he joined his uncle, H.B. Jackson QC at Jackson, Leake & Co, in Perth and practised Law until 1949, when he became the youngest appointee to the WA Supreme Court Bench. He was elevated to Chief Justice in 1969 and retired in 1977.
Jackson was a member of the UWA Senate, 1958-1982, Pro-Chancellor 1966-1968 and Chancellor from 1968-1981.
