Biographical informationKong Sun was born in about 1878 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1895.

He worked as a market gardener for the Sherwoods at 'Spring' in Bayswater.

In 1900 he was 'required to take charge of a lunatic Chinaman forwarded to Singapore' and with the hurried arrangements did not obtain a Certificate before leaving. A Certificate to return to the Colony in June 1900 was arranged in his absence by Charlie Ah Ling and Kong Sun arrived back in the Colony in December 1900.
