DescriptionSun Lee Laundry was situated at Gordon Street, Albany. It was founded by Sun Lee in February 1908. In March 1908 the proprietor was Jim Lee.
Article from Western Mail, 23 May 1908, p. 34: "On Sunday night the police raided a Chinese laundry in Gordon-street, alongside the Town Hall, and caught 15 celestials gambling. All the delinquents were arrested. Beneath the floor of the house were found quantities of opium, gambling material of all kinds, and a box containing £50 in notes.
In the Police Court yesterday Sun Lee, the keeper of the premises, was fined £25. Three other Chinese were each find £2 10s. as assistants, and the remainder had to pay £2 each for having been on the premises, the fines aggregating £52.
The Bench gave instructions for the sub-collector of Customs to be informed of the discovery of the opium."
