Biographical informationAlbert "Alby" Edward Jew Quay was born on 9th November 1906 at Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.

On 11 June 1949 he married Joyce Mavis Fong at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Geraldton. They moved to Sydney and lived for a brief time in Glebe before eventually settling at Lilyfield. They had four children: Edward, Denise, Patricia and Leonie.
