George Leake

Biographical informationGeorge Leake (1786-1849), merchant, was the son of Luke Leake and his wife Ann, née Heading. He had one daughter, Ann Elizabeth, with his wife Anne Growse (-1815). He came to the Swan River settlement per "Calista", in 1829. His mother, daughter and brother, Luke, followed some months later. He was granted 15,000 acres most of which he selected on the Upper Swan and later granted a further 10,000 acres. Applied for four Chinese labourers in 1848.Date of birth1786Date of death1849
