Biographical informationAh Fook (5) was born in about 1861 (although his CEDT photo suggests he was born much later than this), in Canton, China. He was five feet, eight and a quarter inches in height.
In January 1900 he was injured in the head while walking along Perth Road in Albany when Frederick Baldry "flicked" him on the head with a whip, causing blood to flow. Baldry was fined 10 shillings with costs.
On 7th November 1900 he was charged in the Albany Police Court with "damaging several basins and opium, valued at 3 pounds, 6 shillings" which was the property of Wah Hop. He was fined 1 shilling and ordered to pay the amount of the damage (West Australian 8 Nov 1900, pg 5)/
He travelled overseas from April 1915 to September 1916. On his return to Western Australia he worked as a market gardener for Ah Sim in Middleton Road, Albany. In 1918 he worked at Hawkhurst, York and in 1919 for Ah Shae at Tammin. In 1920 he moved to Jarrahdale and worked on Ah Chong's garden. Date of birth1861
