Biographical informationBorn 2 January 1852 in Picton to William Forrest & Margaret Hill. He married Mary Parker on 7 December 1881 at Wi1berforce, York. The couple had 7 children: John Norman born c. 1883, Hubert Willlam Wyborn born c. 1884, Margaret Elizabeth born 1885, Susie Violet born 1888, David William Maidland born 1889, Robert Mervyn born 1891, Donald Louis born 1892. In 1874 he drove a mob of sheep to the Ashburton in the North West. He was part owner with brothers of "Minderoo Station", Ashburton and managed the station for 15 years. He was chairman of Road Board, a JP and MLA Ashburton 1897-1900. Forrest died 5 January 1917.
