"The Cafe Nanking Co. Ltd., recently opened at 143 Barrack-street, Perth, is a fashionable Chinese restaurant. It is fitted up in a most up-to-date Oriental style and private rooms are provided for catering high class patrons. Meals are served from 11 a.m. to 11.30 p.m, Although a novelty in Perth, Chinese restaurants are much favored in the Eastern States. A survey of the menu of the Cafe Nanking will convince that the proprietors are out to give satisfaction to those who are accustomed to Chinese food, a very wide range of Oriental dishes being served, consisting of no less than 60 varieties, such as chop suey, shu arp, cho ki pin, roast poultry (Mandarin style), birds-nest, shark's fins, dim sam, beche-de-mer, etc. Afternoon' teas and after theatre suppers are also provided in the usual Oriental style of varieties. Though the cafe has only been established quite recently evidence of patronage by the European as well as Chinese well-wishers is pronounced. If this can be taken as an augury for the future, no doubt the proprietors will have reason to congratulate themselves. A cordial invitation by the management is extended to the public."
