He worked as a market gardener on Young Shing Lee's Market Garden at Guildford from at least 1911 to 1917 (E).
He travelled overseas three times: April 1914 to April 1917; September 1922 to June 1924; and December 1934 to November 1937 (D).
In 1943 he was working on a market garden in Vincent Street Perth. He was riding his horse and cart down Vincent Street when his horse bolted and the step on his cart struck a pole.
