Biographical informationYouan Charley was born in June 1863 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1895. He was five feet five inches in height.

He worked as a shop keeper with Kong Shing at 8 South Terrace, Fremantle, from at least 1909 to 1918 (B). This was the former location of Wing Wor Kee and Co., although it is unsure whether the shop was still operating under this name.
