Biographical informationYork Chin was born in about 1866. He migrated to Western Australia in 1896. He was five feet four and a half inches in height.

He leased a building and managed a store at Perth before travelling overseas in May 1902. In 1898 he was registered as a partner in Woo Sang Long & Co, 255 Wellington Street, Perth. He returned to Western Australia in June 1903 (A).

He was Grand Master of the Chinese Club, Gee Kung Hong Koong See.
